Salar de Uyuni from Isla Incahuasi
The Salar de Uyuni is the largest salt flat in the world and is the remnant of a prehistoric lake.
Being in the salt flats of Bolivia is like being on a different planet, and if you stand in the right place you can see nothing but salt in all directions. It is mostly void of life except a few notable exceptions. The first on the list is a species of cacti that grow on Incahuasi Island in the flats. Make your way to this island to experience a sunset like you’ve never seen, followed by a view of the Milky Way galaxy without any light pollution.
