Table Mountain as seen from Lion's Head
Table Mountain is the icon of Cape Town. A unique plateau that sits 3,500 feet above the city and makes for dramatic views throughout the day.
Table Mountain itself is part of the greater Table Mountain National Park which extends all the way to the Cape of Good Hope. There are miles-and-miles of trails to explore, and a few will put you onto the Table Mountain plateau.

There is a cable car that will take you to the top. However, lines to get on can exceed 2-hours during the busy times, which coincidentally is how long it would take to just hike up. It is a strenuous hike from the parking lot to the top but is worth it. At the top there is a wonderful restaurant with WiFi and plenty of sight seeing opportunities to occupy your day. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can sign up to abseil your way down instead of hiking.
