The 27 Charcos is a canyoneering experience on the Rio Damajagua. A short hike up the mountain gives you access to a natural water slide park with warm water, slides and cliffs to jump from.
This is probably the most fun experience I had in the Dominican Republic. It was about an hour-and-a-half drive from Sosua, but totally worth the trip. We explored just 12 of the waterfalls as it was the dry season and the remaining waterfalls higher up the mountain wasn’t full enough to enjoy. The water was very warm and clear, and jumping from the limestone cliffs was a blast! There is also a good mix of naturally eroded slides that are very fun to slide down. The whole experience took about 2-hours. 30-minutes to hike up to the top, and an hour-and-a-half to jump, swim and slide our way down.
