Ahu Te Pito Kura was the largest Moai erected on the island. The site also contains a strange and mysterious magnetic rock.

Ahu Te Pito Kura is nearby Anakena and worth the detour. Though the Moai is toppled, it once was the largest Moai ever raised on the island.

At the same site there is a mysterious spherical rock. It is indeed magnetized somehow, as if you put a compass up to it the needle will spin out of control. It is said that it was brought to the island by the first settlers, perhaps as a navigational tool.
